Sophos CTO to speak at RSA 2005 Conference
Lynnfield, MA - Sophos, a global leader in anti-virus, anti-spam and policy-based network security, today announced that Richard Jacobs, Chief Technology Officer, will deliver a presentation at RSA 2005, titled "The unified approach to malware, spam protection and beyond". He will speak on Friday, February 18, 2005 at 10:05 AM PT at gateway 104 in the Mascone Center. Sophos will also be exhibiting at the RSA Conference (booth #202).
Jacobs' presentation will discuss the following topics:
The increased convergence of viruses and spam and how organizations must move to more integrated solutions that deal with the variety and complexity of today's rapidly evolving threats
How organizations need to think of security as a process, not just a set of products by incorporating policies and technologies wherever they can be most effective
The unified approach to securing the network - Where common practice for organizations to deliberately use products from different vendors at different tiers, this session will advocate the necessity of a unified approach
Richard Jacobs is the Chief Technology Officer at Sophos and a member of the company's board of directors. With more than 20 years of commercial experience in software development, he has contributed to the success of Sophos since 1989. Before joining the board in 2000, Richard was president of Sophos in North America for four years. Richard received a degree in electronic engineering from Birmingham University.
