Sophos Anti-Virus hits the sweet spot for NSW Sugar
Sophos, a world leader in anti-virus and anti-spam protection for businesses, today announced that New South Wales Sugar Milling Co-operative Ltd (NSW Sugar) will deploy Sophos Anti-Virus to protect its critical computer networks from viruses, internet worms and other malicious software.
NSW Sugar will deploy Sophos Anti-Virus across its Windows desktops and servers at three separate sites. The Co-operative will also deploy Sophos MailMonitor on its email gateways to protect users from receiving virus-laden emails.
Sophos's administration and management console - Enterprise Manager - will be used to centrally manage and update the anti-virus software.
NSW Sugar is a significant contributor to the State's economy and one of the biggest employers in the State's north. The Co-operative contributes more than AUD$230 million regional economic output and has some 2,200 direct and indirect employees including 450 mill and refinery employees and 650 cane farmers. The Co-operative was formed in 1978 and has mills at Condong on the Tweed River, Broadwater on the Richmond River and Harwood on the Clarence River.
Commenting on his organisation's selection of the Sophos software, Tim Dalrymple, NSW Sugar's Manager - Information Services, said "Keeping our networks free from computer viruses and other malicious internet content is of critical importance to the Co-operative's wellbeing.
"While our sugar output will tend to vary year on year we cannot afford to be let down by computer networks that fail us at critical times. The Sophos Anti-Virus software has really hit the sweet spot for us, delivering exceptional support and peace of mind.
