Sophos website changes: Advice for sysadmins

The Sophos website is expanding in order to provide a better level of service to our growing number of users.

The following technical information is aimed at system administrators to ensure that their company's users can still reach the Sophos website.

If your company is using IP addresses (such as 194.203.134.151) to reach the Sophos websites in scripts or configuration files then you should switch to DNS names (such as "www.sophos.com") wherever possible. This will ensure your company's users are using the correct web servers at all times.

If you cannot use the DNS name, but do have to specify an IP address (for instance, you may have to do this in your firewall rules) then you should ensure the following address ranges are allowed:

194.203.134.128/25 (netmask 255.255.255.128)
213.86.172.128/27 (netmask 255.255.255.224)

Please bear in mind that Sophos may use other servers worldwide to deliver our website, as and when we feel it will provide a better service.

If you do not understand the significance of this information, you should contact your IT department or whoever is responsible for your connection to the internet.
