Sophos Anti-Virus Tackles Manly Rugby Sponsorship

Sophos Anti-Virus, the leader in specialised anti-virus protection for business, has announced it has become the Major Sponsor for the Manly "Marlins" Rugby Football Club Incorporated.

The sponsorship agreement provides Sophos with a wide range of corporate hospitality and networking opportunities including match attendance, Club events and social activities. Sophos will also have the opportunity to call on some of the Club's high profile players for its own corporate functions. Sophos signage adorns the Club's home ground and also features on the front of the Premier Team's jerseys.

Formed in 1906, the Manly Rugby Football Club is one of club rugby's most prestigious and successful clubs, boasting a fantastic sporting tradition. The Club has produced a number of sportspeople who have achieved Australian representation and has legions of highly supportive fans. In recent years the Marlins have been very successful, winning three premierships and playing in seven grand finals.

Announcing the sponsorship, Mr Stuart Palmer, Managing Director of Sophos Anti-Virus, said, "Sponsoring the Marlins provides Sophos with a great opportunity to support the game at the grass roots club level; at the breeding ground for future state and international heroes, like Wallabies Nathan Grey and George Smith.

"The sponsorship agreement has strong synergies with our corporate belief, that, like the rugby world, businesses need support at the ground level to support ongoing growth. Sophos's range of corporate anti-virus solutions protect businesses at many levels, ensuring that business continuity is not threatened by virus outbreaks. We will look to the sponsorship to reinforce the message that we are here to support businesses."

Speaking on behalf of the Manly Ruby Club, Mr Brian Beer President of Manly RFC, said, "Having Sophos Anti-Virus on board as our major sponsor is an exciting development for both the Club and the game in Australia. Like the performance of Sophos Anti-Virus in the business world, we will take inspiration from their support for our Club and seek to excel both on and off the field."
