Sophos Anti-Virus receives West Coast Checkmark for 100% detection of in-the-wild viruses yet again

West Coast Labs Checkmark

Sophos announced today that its flagship product, Sophos Anti-Virus, has yet again achieved West Coast Labs Checkmark certification.

Sophos Anti-Virus version 3.54 for Windows 95/98, Sophos Anti-Virus version 3.54 for Windows NT Server and Sophos Anti-Virus version 3.54 for Novell NetWare have again successfully been awarded Anti-Virus Checkmark level 1, providing further independent verification that Sophos is capable of protecting against all known 'in-the-wild' viruses in both on-demand and on-access modes.

The Checkmark system has been developed by West Coast Labs, an independent research and test centre. It provides a reliable means of authenticating those products which users can consistently rely upon to provide the highest quality anti-virus solutions.

"Sophos Anti-Virus has had a superb start to the year in independent tests. This confirmation of our software quality stands alongside accolades from Virus Bulletin, AV-Test.org, PC Pro magazine and Network News," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos. "Prestigious businesses and organisations such as Domino's Pizza Group, University of Hamburg and the WWF are amongst the many who have chosen to switch to Sophos in recent months."
